Three swimming pools (two of which are heated), a 35 acre spring-fed Echo Lake, and 3 mile-long Loon Lake provide the backdrop for a superb aquatics and watersports program at Echo Lake.

Swimming:
Swim instruction at Echo Lake takes place in our 25-meter heated pools. Juniors received swim lessons 3 – 4 times each week and Inters 2-3 times each week. Swim classes typically consist of 4 – 6 campers and one staff member and we follow the American Red Cross teaching program.

Campers who love to swim can have a chance to compete in intercamp swim meets that we host throughout the summer. We also have daily “lake swims”—since 1946, “swimming the lake” has been a tradition for Echo Lake campers and counselors!

Our afternoon General Swim alternates daily between our pools, and the lake, with both sites set up with a complement of awesome watersports equipment and aqua toys –just for fun!

Watersports:
Because we don’t allow motorized boats on Echo Lake, we get the opportunity to waterski on Look Lake, just a 15 minute ride from camp. We use the Inverted Wakeboard and Waterski School—and their professional instructors and top-notch equipment—on Loon Lake for our waterski instruction and program!

Campers can, in one summer, go from learning how to ski on a “boom,” to slaloming by summer’s end. Loon Lake is peaceful and practically all ours!

Sailing and windsurfing and small crafts are done on both Echo Lake and Loon Lake.
